Polycarbonate stands out from other plastics through its optical purity and very high impact resistance. PC panels are 250 times stronger than glass of the same thickness. With this unique combination of hardness, impact resistance, weather resistance and transparency, PC is especially suitable for glazing and security applications in buildings.

Specific Material Description

PC lexan 9030 is a standard polycarbonate with an outstanding impact resistance in its class.  Moreover this material maintains good characteristics across a wide range of temperatures. Lexan 9030’s permissible temperature for continuous use is 100°C and the material allows for short temperature peaks of up to 135°C.
The mechanically permissible temperature range extends to 127 °C.

Applications:

Extremely suitable for indoor applications like outside-mounted windows, partitions, filling panels, etc.

Characteristics:
• Almost unbreakable: vandalism-proof security product
• Lightweight: light, cheaper substructures, easy and fast handling.
• Cold-bendable and cold-installable: extensive design freedom, bendable onsite to the desired radius
• Self-extinguishing: qualified in class B1-2, according to NEN 3883.
• Soundproofing: excellent insulation, Lexan®, 6 mm: 31 dB(A).
• Thermal insulation: K-value of Lexan®, 6 mm: 5.09 W/m2K
• Intruder-resistant and retarded breaking: almost unbreakable.
