Fiberglass-reinforced polyester profiles are obtained by pultrusion. Pultrusion is a continuous process in which a thermosetting polymer and reinforcement fibers are formed into a profile. Reinforcement materials such as glass fibers and glass mats are soaked in an open bath with liquid resin. The moist material is then folded into the profile shape and ends up in a heated mold. The resin hardens in the mold and thus forms a whole with the reinforcement materials. The whole is obtained by a pulling system pulled through the mold and brought to the desired length by a sawing unit.
